I can see it now: CoCA Members' Show
It’s coming up fast… think I can just make out the sign ahead…
This weekend I’m delivering artwork to be shown in “2020 Vision.” It’s the annual group show of work by members of the Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA Seattle). My assemblage sculpture “They Don’t Really Feel Pain” goes on gallery display with work by 114 of my artist friends, plus more artists showing their work on the CoCA website. (Here’s the backstory on this piece.)
I’d love to see you at the opening reception on March 5th, during the next Pioneer Square Art Walk. As you probably know, free parking for the art walk goes fast. Come join me for the first look at our show!

I had such a great time at Juan Alonso Studio last week...

... I'm coming back to his space this week too!
I've been invited to show some of my work in the Front Room Gallery at Juan Alonso Studio. On First Thursday art walk in Pioneer Square, I'll debut a new collage as well as some others you might have missed. Details:
Oh, and in case you were wondering, last week's fundraiser was a smash! Juan presented small works by 120 artists, including me, and raised a pretty penny for Lambda Legal, the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.
I'm just amazed I've gotten to double-dip, so to speak, and spend more time with such a wonderful artist. Will you join us?
Next stops: protests, Pioneer Square, Pacific Place
This weekend I'm taking a short break from art, but not for long and not just to chill out. I'm joining several friends to show solidarity with the Women's March on Washington. Watch my Instagram account: I'll be posting images from the march, especially of the more artistic signs and protesters.
Next week: two February art exhibits. I recently got word both my artworks were accepted into the "Like Mother" show at ArtXchange Gallery in Pioneer Square!
I've also been invited to show work at a pop-up art gallery in downtown Seattle. You might remember my work a couple of years ago at Alki Arts' celebration of Black History Month.
This year, my dear friend (and one-woman cheering squad) Diane Venti is hosting the show at Pacific Place. More details on the shows soon... meanwhile, I'm going to rest up for tomorrow. If you're marching anywhere in the world, tag me on Instagram so I can see what you see!
