Join us for an art walk in The Cloud
Remember being able to go outside whenever you wanted? Yeah… good times. Paradoxically, though, being shut in this Friday means you can jump from your place to Gallery One and my studio in less than a minute.
At 6:15pm PST tonight, Gallery One hosts the virtual opening reception for the artists of “Between the Fold.” Ed Marquand and I will participate in the comment section, as the jurors of this book arts group exhibit. But that’s not all…
… come over to my studio and I’ll show you where I made the work for my exhibit “Never the Same Book Twice.” (I cleaned up ‘specially for you and everything.) So this evening, I’m inviting you to take a walk in the cloud: not through a bunch of internet servers and databases… we’re going to the online version of First Friday Ellensburg. See you there!
A message from the Essential Workforce
Connecting during COVID-19 quarantine feels like trying to signal someone far away, with only a flashlight.
No wonder artists who stream their work or services are now considered part of the essential workforce. Somebody has to provide a reason to stay inside. So on April 3rd, Gallery One and I are partnering for a virtual First Friday art walk, to bring you image and video previews of my solo art exhibit!
Once tech support and I set up the equipment, I can also webcast other content to people on my mailing list — especially those who get these posts emailed directly to them. (Sign up here so I don’t forget to include you.)
Remember, when you tune in next Friday, April 3rd, you’ll be watching videos from the Essential Workforce. If anybody asks, you’re only doing your duty as a responsible supporter of the arts.
Spring (exhibits) will be a little late this year
Thanks to COVID-19, my upcoming solo show is down but not out. Good news: “Never the Same Book Twice” will be open for two months instead of one! My show will be up during April and May.
And here’s the bad news: Social distancing has forced Gallery One to reschedule the opening reception, from April 3rd to May 1st. Same for “Between the Fold,” the book arts show running in concert with my show. HOWEVER…!
When the doors reopen, we’re going to award $800 in prizes to “Between the Fold” artists. So… delayed, yeah — but on the upside, NOT CANCELED outright like the gallery’s weekend workshops. Adjust your calendars accordingly. In the meantime, here’s something you can do right now to support Gallery One: please consider becoming a gallery member or making a donation. Spaces like this one are vital to artists like me who make unconventional, sometimes challenging work.
