"Green" day

Selected scenes from last weekend's opening reception for the "It's Not Easy Being Green" art exhibit...
Mostly, I did what I do best--
run my mouth introduce myself to other artists, as well as to arts commissioners Pat Condon and Rennie Grossman.
Jennifer Kuhns and Patrick S. McKenna were awarded gift baskets from local businesses...
... for Jennifer's "Curtains of Ice Web" recycled glass and cabinet door piece (upper left)
... and Patrick's "Fronds," a tissue paper fern piece (lower left).

All the artwork is for sale, including "The Plumber's Jealousy" (email me at yolisalisa at g mail dot com if you're interested). You'll get a better idea of how it'll fit into your home by seeing it in person! (winkwink nudgenudge...)
All the artwork will be on display until November 18th at the Lynnwood main library gallery. "The Plumber's Jealousy" is in the display case on the right, just before the library doors.
Yeah, right there in the center of the second level.

It's coming this weekend...

A little behind-the-scenes action at the Lynnwood main library... installation day for the "It's Not Easy Being Green" exhibit.
Fred Wong and Marianne Johnson of the Arts Commission began set-up in the gallery a couple days ago.
So while they unpacked, of course I had to take a look at some of the other "Green" artworks...

Remember, the opening is this Saturday, 11am to noon (and possibly a little over, since Fred and Marianne will be giving a bit of a tour of the pieces).
Let me know if I'll see you there: leave a comment here, or let me know on my Facebook fan page.

Pre-Artfest adventure

The Boy and I took a trip to Seattle's Pioneer Square for a little adventure:
open house at Teesha and Tracy Moore's new Artfest Annex.

Teesha and Tracy want their new loft to be a meeting spot and class venue during the rest of the year... kind of a mini-Artfest high outside of Artfest weekend. (They'll have classes posted soon on their website.)
Teesha invited The Boy to contribute a doodle to her latest journal...
So while he hung out with Journalfest instructor (and my pal) Liesel...
I wandered around and soaked up the poster-ized journal pages.

Yes, the journals are even cooler in person.
And fresh Zettiology stamps waiting to be mailed... it's like hanging out in the magician's workshop.
Hope we can go back there soon!
