Have new camera phone, will travel
The Husband promised me when our new camera phones came in, we'd have a photo shoot. He promised! And delivered. Let the special effects begin!
We got myTouch 4G Slide phones, partly because they're crazy powerful, but mainly because I now switch back and forth between phone and actual camera when I'm taking pictures. So I also upgraded my Vignette app (it's like Hipstamatic for Android phones).
"Velvia" with vignette effect in the above photo, then the same shot with the "dots" effects.
We also gave The Boy our old camera so he could do his own photo shoot, which thrilled him to pieces.
No camera for TwoBoo, who had to settle forbeing a model running around in the dirt.
Gotta go. My phone wants me to download the rest of my photos.

Coming soon
Some of my local art girlies will be selling their artworks this coming weekend at ArtSplash: Celeste Douville and Tonnie Wolfe. ArtistsConnect puts on the four-day art show every year. Besides seeing what they're going to bring, I plan on a visit because Tonnie's invited me to speak at ArtistsConnect in a few months. [blushing]
Also, I expect to drag the kids down to Edmonds for the event because there's nothing like networking with two small people who are liable to knock something over or sulk the whole time. Kidding! Sort of!

Makin' friends, influencin' people
Now I know what my art looks like in a dedicated gallery space!
One piece is just too lonely. It needs me to make it lots of friends to keep it company.
The Juried Art Show was, as promised, a venue for a wide variety of artworks. Like the time machine by Steven Lestat (yes, that's his real last name)...
and the glass vessels by Delores Taylor. (I didn't touch it even though I reallyreallyreally wanted to.)
It turns out Delores is a member of the Northwest Designer Craftsmen, as are four other artists in this show.
She liked my piece and thought I should consider joining the group... networking, all that good stuff. One thing I learned just in that conversation: I might've gotten both assemblages into the show if I'd said they were two halves of one piece. Ohhh... I have much to learn.
You can still see my piece until August 27th at the Schack Art Center.
