Art fair prep: bringing my best to Best of the Northwest
I'm putting the final touches on a few new pieces as I get ready for the October act of Best of the Northwest show.
Trying something new for this show.
And by "trying something new" I mean "not making new work up until the last minute so I don't get stressed out." But as you know, the tasks expand to fit the time available (about 22 days -- eek). So I'm keeping myself busy tying up loose ends. Details you'll need to know:
DATES: October 24, 25 & 26 (Friday-Sunday)
TIMES: 10am-6pm Friday & Saturday, 10am-5pm Sunday
WHERE: Magnuson Park, Hangar 30
TICKETS: Brown Paper Tickets (notice the special deal if you bring a friend!)
Just print the info out and bring it with you. Let me know you plan to attend; RSVP here. You'll see my work plus that of more than 100 other artists
And here's the kicker: your ticket to my show gets you in FREE for the next show November 14-16, where you'll see work from another 110 artists! Looking forward to seeing you...
New site for Lisa MB!
TA-DAAAA!
You can find my artwork by section:
And if you want to contact me, see where I've exhibited or read a little of my backstory, click on "Info" in the navigation bar. Poke around a bit -- it's all new and shiny (except for the parts that are intentionally grubby).
August changes: You say goodbye, I say hello

Make more art: Yes, you also have to promote your work. But once you get into that group show or art fair, you'll need something to show/sell. Bonus: remember how great making stuff feels?

Safety first: Wouldn't it be horrible if you packed all your original artwork carefully... and then let everything slide around in the back of the car? Use the bungee cords. They are your friends.

| Bungee cords and a hand truck help you save your strength for important things: more art-making. |
And the framing costs for your two-dimensional pieces. And a trip to take photos for a new body of work. The trip to Tahiti to follow in Gauguin's footsteps, though... you better keep every last receipt to prove the trip is art-related.
So what did you learn during summer vacation, class? Tell me in the comments, or on Facebook.
