I am a visual artist working in collage, assemblage sculpture and altered books. My practice explores identity, memory and the history of the African diaspora. Vintage and contemporary images collide to convey how the past informs the present.

Good phone day

I thought I'd never see the next print run of Good Mail Day -- did I mention the first print run sold out? Sold OUT. Gone. And there was one lonely copy left on the bookshelf at my local Barnes & Noble. I generously left it at eye-level for another lucky shopper to spot and pick up.

(It killed me to leave it there! I haven't gotten any quality time with the book yet!)

The word I got this morning was that the new print run arrived in Quarry's warehouse TODAY, and they're shipping now. I should have my contributor copy, and the ones I ordered for local newspapers to peruse, by sometime next week.

And on a totally different topic: if you read this blog regularly, let me know by joining my two (only two!) Google followers. I need company while I wait for the books to arrive!

The new books are here! The new books are here!

No pressure. No pressure at all.
