I am a visual artist working in collage, assemblage sculpture and altered books. My practice explores identity, memory and the history of the African diaspora. Vintage and contemporary images collide to convey how the past informs the present.

If you're in San Fran this Friday...

... check out the "Good Mail Day" book release party at the San Francisco Center for the Book. One of the authors, Carolee Gilligan Wheeler, has the in there -- she teaches classes at the Center. She and her co-author Jennie Hinchcliff will sign your copy, if you've got one.

I say "if" because the first print run has sold out and Quarry is hustling to get more out the door. I did check my local Borders and Barnes and Noble branches, and they have copies.

This is your official invitation, peoples. And if you're a postal worker, well, then... you're practically royalty at this shindig. I'm gonna have to miss it, but you go and tell me how much fun it was, okay?

No pressure. No pressure at all.
