HEXed at Twilight Gallery

St. Felicia, patron saint of goodbyes, is predicted to appear to her faithful followers next month!

I've delivered the icons to Twilight Gallery in West Seattle for their October exhibit "HEX and The Monstrous Feminine."  Here's a little more about the exhibit theme:

I've had my eye on showing my work here for a while now, and lo and behold, St. Felicia has paved the way. The exhibit opens October 4th; I don't have a reception date just yet, but I'll update you as soon as possible!

New art: St. Felicia, complete

Aaand... she's done! Here's your first full glimpses of St. Felicia, patron saint of farewells.

Behold, the glow of holiness emanates from her being.

St. Felicia's shrine will open to her followers and devotees at the debut of the Great Mystery Project. I'll also have her holy backstory posted nearby. For now, though, enjoy the slideshow of St. Felicia's evolution on my studio table.

Work-in-progress: St. Felicia needs a halo

Earlier this week I touched up a few edges for St. Felicia... here's roughly where we are now.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen my faux holy woman (faux-ly woman?) in two of her saintly aspects.

She bears a sword, plus a shield emblazoned with seven-league boots -- appropriate for the patron saint of farewells. Next step: I'm going to set (each of) her on a pedestal and connect her to her "halo."

Still working on the color, but I'm much closer to done... maybe even by next week. Send concentration and studio time vibes this way!
